In Full Swing

"In Full Swing" is Canberra's most entertaining Big Band, consisting of 22 highly skilled and fun musicians who reside in and around the Canberra region. The band was originally formed in 1991, and has an extensive repertoire of music from the big band era of the 1930-40s, right through to contemporary funk, rock and Latin songs, as well as those by re-emergent artists such as Michael Buble and Royal Crown Review. In Full Swing also features both male and female vocalists, who add incredible intensity, pizzazz and talent to our ensemble.

In recent years In Full Swing has been busy recording in the studio and from the stage. Our latest CD was released in November 2016 and features a high energy collection of swinging Christmas songs. More information on our CDs can be found on our CD page.

The current line-up includes a range of versatile and talented personalities from 18-60 years of age who love to play music, have fun and enjoy each others' company. We are always on the lookout for more members so check out our recruitment page if you would like more information on joining us.

We perform at a wide variety of venues and in different formats, which regularly include Weddings, Private Functions, Christmas Parties, Jazz Festivals (Merimbula- Queen's Birthday long weekend), Special Events and Gala Balls, Charity and Community events such as fundraisers and Floriade.

Young Music Society Concert Band

The Young Music Society (YMS) Concert Band joined Belconnen Musicians in 2024. This band for musicians aged 9 to 18 provides a great environment to hone your skills, play great music and have a lot of fun.
